Some basic Wiccan materials are as follows:

1. An athame(ath-a-may)is mainly used for summining the southern corner (fire) and other rituals
2. A cup is mainly used for summining the western corner (water) and in other rituals
3. The wand is mainly used for summining the eastern corner (air) and other rituals
4. The pentalce is mainly used for summining the northern corner (earth)and in other rituals
5. The book or shadows is used for recording all the information on spells, recepies and rituals that the witch has learned. It is usually passed down the family tree.
6. The alter is central to most spells and rituals and holds the items that is needed for the procedure. It is usually a table with a black or white covering and usually in the middle of that covering is a coloured stripe. The colour can sometimes depend on what kind of spell or ritual is being proformed. The colour can also depend on the kind of magic the witch does.
7. Candles-the most common candles that are used are red, white, blue, green, orange, pink, black, yellow, silver, gold, and purple.
8. Insence-these are used for blessing or purifing and area
9. Books-these are probably one of the most important items that are used, they hold information and recipes for every kind of practice
